This group is a substitute for the blogging system that was in place
when the book was printed and published. The blogs were frequently hit
by spammers, and a poll of active bloggers indicated that a discussion
group where questions and comments as well as progress reports could be
posted was preferable to individual blogs. The tempo of blog posts was
rarely more than once a month, and this group allows that posting
frequency to be viewed by those interested without them having to visit
several individual blogs. Personal blogs on the Fast-5 site would be
expected to be focused on weight loss and health maintenance, and thus
would not have the wide-ranging topic flexibility of a separate,
individual blog.
If an individual blog is preferable to you, the blogging software can
be restarted on the Fast-5 site. I believe, though, that your posts
would get more readership and responses here in the Yahoo group.
Another alternative is for those who want to have individual blogs to
set up a blog on a full-time blogging site, and we could link to it
from the Fast-5 comments page.
Opinions and comments from others about what works best are welcome.
Best wishes,
Bert Herring
