Hi, my name is Rosa, I am a stay at home mother of 3 kids. a 1 and
1/2 year old daughter, a 7 year old son, and another 16 year old son.
I have been overweight all my life, and recently have hit an all
time high on the scale. On December 2nd, 2005, I quit smoking cold
turkey after 21 years of two packs a day. My husband quit with me
too. I stand 5 foot 10 and 1/2 inches tall, and this week I weighed
my self in at 300 pounds! I was devestated when I saw that... It
is getting so bad for me now, I have trouble walking, or even
standing for any length of time. My knees hurt so bad all the
time. And my back constantly aches, especially when I have to do
dishes and stuff like that. I'm always depressed because of this,
and I have a huge fear of dying now because of this. I have to do
something! I want to be around for my children...
My 16 year old son is also 5 foot 10, and he weighs about 285 pounds
AT 16 YEARS OLD! That is very scary for me. He is also on blood
pressure medicine now as well.
We need help bad! We live around St. Louis and saw Gary Long on the
Local Fox 2 television news this morning. I was inspired by him and
went immediately to his website where in turn I went to his Journal
and found the Fast 5 website...
I have become intrigued by this lifestyle and I think me and my son
are both going to give it a try starting tomorrow. What have I got
to lose? Well besides the pounds right? I want to know what
exactly is okay to have during the day tho as far as drinks. I know
water, tea, and diet soda. But I have a juice type drink that I
like to drink every morning for energy. I basically want to know if
that is okay. It's called Ageless Xtra. I haven't been drinking it
lately but I would like to start again if I'm going to fast, just
for the energy thru the day...
Also, I would love to get your book, but it will have to wait
because we are on a very limited income. I will get it as soon as I
can, but any advise in the meantime or inspiration would be very
