Re: Hello My First Day- Question Please, Help

Welcome to the group!
You'll find the answer to your question (which is "eat according to appetite")
and answers to questions you don't have yet but probably will at these
locations:

The welcome page for this group:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/fast5/

The FAQ file and summary pages:

http://www.fast-5.com/faq.html
http://www.fast-5.com/F5Summary.html

You can also download the entire book (it's only about 50 pages) for free at:
http://www.fast-5.com/Fast-5-ebook100.pdf

Reading the book should help you understand how Fast-5 works. The more you know,
the better you can adapt it to fit well into your life. For example, the eating
window does not have to be from 5-10pm -- it can be any period of five
consecutive hours.

As far as metabolism goes, if your boost your metabolism by keeping your body
busy storing groceries, that kind of defeats the purpose because your body will
inevitably store more calories than it burns digesting them (unless you eat only
celery.) The key is to eat less than your body needs so it burns the excess
already stored. Fast-5 helps do that by getting the appetite right for slow,
steady weight loss and leads to a lifestyle approach to simple weight
maintenance.

It may take a few weeks to get to the slow, steady weight loss, a time during
which you may have compensatory overeating, but that's ok if it's just a
transient phase that gets you where you want to be. (That's in the book too).

Best wishes,

Bert

ate pretty much my whole 5 hours. I'm not about to explode but I know I
definitely ate a bit of food. So, are we supposed to eat the whole 5 hours or
are we supposed to eat according to hunger? I'm afraid about metabolism slowing
if I don't eat enough. Any suggestions or tips please...
