Family Voices of Wyoming,a part of a national grassroots organization supporting and speaking on behalf of families of children who have special health care needs. We are able to do this because we have children with special health care needs in our homes or are personally involved with them and know their needs. We serve on boards, and act as advisors to private and public health care systems,we bring the family perspective to policy discussions and decisions. Part of our goal is to offer support, guidance, information and referral to those who are just learning the extent of their children’s special health care needs. We help these families to get connected to means of help and support for the long road ahead. This hopefully will decrease their fear, anxiety, and endless bureaucratic run-around that often accompanies dealing with agencies or insurance companies. Having a seamless support system in all areas is important to assure the children and families affected are getting everything they need with the least amount of hassle. We also encourage and share information with those of us who are not new to dealing with our children’s health needs, but need to stay informed and share expertise and experiences with each other. Our children with special health care needs are, above all, children who deserve a healthy, happy childhood and a chance to grow up to be productive adults. It is free to join Family Voices of Wyoming! Upon joining you are added to our membership roles and will receive our free newsletter every other month, as well as have the opportunity to be on our internet list-serve to receive and offer support by this means.
