I don't think Dr. Horsely was there yet (there are MANY LVI sites all over the
country) but the quality control was horrid. The Musa brothers (the owners of
LVI as well as the notorious Eyeglass World chain) made volume and earnings
priority one. Patient care and quality ran a distant last to all other concerns.
If Dr Horsely has been there for any length of time, he or she has doubtlessly
encountered and probably succumbed to their influence. Remember, the doctors are
employees of the Musas and they don't keep anyone who doesn't "play ball". LVI
and it's parent corporation have been featured on investigative news shows,
indicted by state authorities and paid massive fines for repeated violations of
law and ethics.
Just walk away.

Very interesting, when your worked there, what was your reputation of
Dr. William Horsley and the quality control at LVI?

course that was before all the law suits and criminal actions forced
them to switch corporate identities and names. I saw plenty of normal
results come out of there but I think that was simply because LASIK is
such a relatively simple procedure and one can have a good result
despite negative factors. What you have heard is true. LVI is the most
crooked, unethical, and dangerous eye care organization that I know of
in the U.S. today. The practitioners who work there (including the
surgeons) are aware of it's reputation as a "flim flam" operation and
yet they continue to work there. There is essentially one reason; the
money. When you consider that they are willing to compromise their
reputations and ethics to work there, how important do you think you
are in their minds? I saw "screw the patient, keep the money" type
policies on a regular basis and it turned my stomach. I didn't last
very long. When I objected to unethical behavior and stupid, clumsy,
rushed surgical outcomes, I was asked to resign. I gladly did.

shopping? Would you be price shopping for someone to deliver your
baby? Put your priorities in order and find the surgeon with the BEST
REPUTATION. If you are proceeding with a surgical procedure on the
most valuable of your senses that cannot be replaced, are looking for
the lowest price, and ignoring warnings about LVI then you deserve
whatever you get.
