There really isn't much that I know about that anyone can do unless
you are a consumer and just boycott or sue the place.
All the states have a Department of Professional Regulation and
Licensing, or a similar state office. But in the vast majority of
states these offices license and control the individual practioner,
NOT the office or company involved. In this case, the State could
sanction me if I provided improper care but does not monitor
individual facilities. The State attorney general does this. But they
usually will only act if they receive a significant number of
consumer complaints.
As for the lights in the bathroom being out, having done some
electrical work in the past, it appeared to me that a single low
power line (15 amp) was used for the entire Men's john. With the
fluorescent lights and the electric hand driers (3) all on the same
line a short developed and the wiring was going to have to be
replaced and split into two separate circuits. I do not see how that
passed a code inspection.
But I left that to the better business bureau. I wrote them a letter
of complaint.
No, my friend, I did what I could, but the point I was trying to
make was that there are so many OD's out there trying to make a
living - and companies like these know it - they will always be able
to find someone who has to earn a living who will do what they ask in
order to put food on the table for their family.
Don't feel bad for me. 5 days and I was Outta There. But there was/is
another guy who I filled in for who had THAT for his daily pastime.
A pity!
