The bottom line is that even though this company has a new venture
capital group that owns it in Summit it still hasn't done the things
necessary to make it a legitimate company.

Any good company would start to crack down on the things discussed on
the bulletin board. Many of these topics border on the head turning
that the executives at Enron displayed.

For example, someone a while back on this bulletin board made a
reference to Dr. Erin Shannon, Florida optometrist, and his marijuana
use. Although I have no personal contact with Dr. Shannon to confirm
his consumption of marijuana, I can commnet on company policy. In
any good company like IBM or even TLC The Laser Centers they would
drug screen through urine samples or require hair samples.

However, Summit and LVI and Eye Glass World still turns a blind eye
and deaf ear to its top employees and their extra-curricular
activities by having no policies in place to drug screen their
employees. When companies don't encourage good behavior from its top
leaders then the rest of the company follows the lead of these people
that are in a position of power.

What if you went in for a lasik consultation from the Musas head
puppet optometrist in Florida and found out that he used marijuana on
a regular basis. Would that change your opinion of the company. If
this company has changed hands, will Summit partners now start to
expect behavior worthy of an ethical company?

Again, I cannot say that Dr. Erin Shannon used marijuana. I am only
referencing prior posts. However, I do feel that if this is truly a
legitimate company then they would start to make a corporate code of
ethics and encourage drug testing.

If Dr. Shannon has nothing to fear than he should demonstrate himself
as a leader in this company and offer himself up for voluntary drug
testing. He could quell the rumors and set an example for this new
spirit of the company that so many people claim is present with the
ownership change.

He could, but I doubt he will....
