The first dose of Erbitux is administered at 400 mg/square meter.

All subsequent doses of Erbitux are at 200 mg/square meter.

The typical schedule is once a week.

It is administered as a transfusion (glass bottle, no plastic) over a period
ranging from 40 minutes to an hour, then no other chemo drugs for a period of 30
minutes.

Subject: Doses - Erbitux v Avastin

Hi,

I am trying to find out from people who are getting Erbitux or Avastin, what is
the dose they are taking?

I cannot find info on Avastin but, for example from what I have roughly worked
out it MAY work out at 400mg/per sq meter for 1 week then to 200mg/sqm for
following doses of ERBITUX? Is this true? How many pills of what mg is that?Is
it 1 dose a day say 2x 200mg pills in the afternoon?

This compares to Xeloda/Capcebetine Dose level 1250mg/m2 (twice daily) Xeloda
dose calculation according to body surface area, For example Surface Area of
1.53 gives a Dose of 2000mg = 5 pills of 500mg Xeloda am and pm

Thanks

Ian
