Re: [Experimental and Unconventional] Stage I Colon Cancer   Message List

There is a fairly new test called the GCC-1 blood test by Targeted Diagnostics
Therapeutics. It has all its appropriate FDA approvals as of January 2003. You
may need to fight your insurance company to get them to pay for it however since
it is well documented that colon cancer is widely understaged it may be worth it
to take that fight on. The specificity and sensitivity of that test are both
over 98%. GCC only exists in your colon so if it is found in your blood you
have colon cancer outside of your colon - just in the form of micromets which is
why it wasn't caught. ODDS are that you are stage 1. But to avoid being in the
percentage of understaged see if you can get this test done.

Additionally, talk to your doctor about chemo prevention clinical trials; taking
a baby apsirin a day and other preventative measures you can take.

Subject: [Experimental and Unconventional] Stage I Colon Cancer

Priscilla:

I have Stage I colon cancer, and last year I had surgery and remove part of my
colon. After follow up with CT Scan 8months they did not find any mets or
abnormalities. And my questions is is there any other test or scan do I need to
take? my doctors said no treatment will be given for me.

Thanks,
Rizal

None of the people that the Network has interacted with directly have survived
when they were stage 3 or 4. Stage 1 and 2 are theorectically 'cured' by
surgery. Although research has solidly documented that colon cancer is widely
understaged. Which would account for some if not all of the 'recurrances'. So,
the question then becomes, okay, maybe there isn't an identified homeopathic
type of way to deal with later stage colon cancer, but after surgery do these
things make a difference in micro-mets? I don't know the answer to that.

Subject: [Experimental and Unconventional] REFUSING TREATMENTS

has anyone come across anyone who was diagnosed with colon cancer, and
refused all conventional treatments i.e., surgery, rads, chemo?
and if so, how long was their survival time?

Thanks,

Mary
