II. Weekly Cut & Paste: 用心於每一個當下

有一個青蛙哲學家看到一隻蜈蚣在走路，他心想著，用四隻腳走

路已經夠麻煩的了，蜈蚣是如何用一百隻腳在走路的呢？牠怎知

該是那隻腳先走？那隻腳後走？接下來又是那一隻呢？

於是牠叫住了蜈蚣，並把自己的疑問告訴牠。

蜈蚣說：我一生都在走路，但從未想過這個問題，現在我必需好

好思考一下才能回答你。蜈蚣站在那兒好幾分鐘，牠發現自己動

不了了，搖晃了一會兒，然後牠倒下來，牠告訴青蛙：請你不要

再去問其牠蜈蚣同樣的問題，我已經無法控制自己的腳了！

星星不需看地圖就能依照圓行的軌道在運行，如果給他們圓規和

尺說不定他們反而不知何去何從，甚至會迷路，人若對自己的生

命沒有信心，結果與青蛙在蜈蚣身上所造成的影響是相同的，一

樣的無所適從。

試著去用心於每一個當下，專心走路、專心的吃飯、專心的愛

，平靜、喜樂油然而生！

III. Keith's Point of View: 「不斷」人生

最近看了一篇短文，深感極有意義，分享如下：

世界著名的小提琴家歐爾‧布里，在巴黎的一次音樂會上，小提
琴的A弦突然斷了！觀眾一片嘩然，但是他依然神色自若的用剩
餘的三條弦將作品演奏完畢，全場掌聲不息。

這就是人生！缺了一條弦，就以剩餘的三條繼續演奏。

太多時候我們縱使擁有全部弦線，仍然無病呻吟，又或不知所措，

弦線不足，音色並不完美，但仍能繼續，為何不繼續下去呢?!

IV. You Can Attend: Systemic Thinking Course

Systemic Thinking is NOT Systematic Thinking or Systems

Thinking! Systematic Thinking is thinking methodically. Methods

are products of human and they never can reflect the real world

accurately. In today’s extra fast changing environment, all

methods become too far away from reality.

Systems Thinking is the thinking about how things interacting

with one another. The interactions amongst “things” are so

complex that Systems Thinking is not simple. Both Systematic

& Systems Thinking are useful. But Systemic Thinking is

different only.

Systemic thinking is a simple thinking technique for gaining

systemic insights into complex situations and problems. It

puts the benefits of Systems Thinking within reach of everyone.

Systemic Thinking systematically breakdown situations

into their components (Analysis), and then studies how they

work together (Synthesis). Systemic Thinking is the combination

of Analytical & Synthetical Thinking, or Systematic & Systems

Thinking.

The more complex the situation you are facing (example: Today’s

world), the more benefits you can gain from Systemic Thinking.

This is one of the best problem solving and creative skill of the

century.

The Systemic Thinking Course is a brand new program

V. My Personal Development Tips: Top 5 Wisdom about
Getting Older

Nearly everyone afriad of getting old. Here are some wisdom

about aging. Enjoy.

1. We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes

in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially.

We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another.

The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward,

forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells,

constellations... Anais Nin. Perhap this is called "Balance".

2. Those who love deeply never grow old; they may die of old age,

but they die young...Sir Arthur Pinero. Choose something

and/or someone to love.

3. Perhaps one has to be very old before one learns to be amused

rather than shocked...Pearl Buck. Amuse at anything that shock

you.

4. No man is ever old enough to know better...Holbrook Jackson.

The older we get, the more we should learn.

5. Years ago we discovered the exact point the dead center of

middle age. It occurs when you are too young to take up golf

and too old to rush up to the net...Franklin P. Adams. If you don't

want to be at the dead center of middle age, do whatever

you want to do and forget your age.

The Success Secrets of Andy Grove, CEO of Intel

The current issue of Fortune Magazine (Dec 12 2005) tells the

success story of one of the greatest CEO in US, Andy Grove.

The company grows and grows even there are so many

computer hardware competitors around the globe.

I encourage you to get the magazine and read the article.

Here is my short summary of it:

There are at least 3 success secrets of Mr. Grove:

1. He tests his assumptions. If the assumptions are

wrong, the conclusions can't be right!

2. He observes himself objectively. He writes daily journal.

He calls this Self-Education. This helps him understanding his

thinking.

3. He encourages others to challenge him. Their inhouse

training school trains their executives to challenge their

colleagues and superiors by asking for evidences.

Even though Mr. Grove is not doing coaching, he is coaching

himself to see his own blindspots. What a smart man!
