This is Part 2 of my series on Mega-Trends which I mentioned

in this year's Annual Prediction Seminar. Same as the first

trend, our second mega-trend, Fantasy Adventure have been

with us for nearly 20 years.

Life is boring. There are stresses here and there. People want

some adventures, but adventures are dangerous! Solution: we

buy adventures.

Buying adventures is a safe escape from daily stress. We can

get through the adventures freely and safely.

Action movies, electronic games, foriegn cusines, fusion

cusines, theme parks, special tour packages are products of

this Fantasy Adventure Trend. Don't you find more and more

people go diving, rock climbing and other kinds of "dangerous"

sports? Don't you find more and more ladies riding motorcycles?

Don't you find more and more people addicting to various kinds

of drugs.

This trend is going to continue.

Will this trend affecting you? How can you get something out of

Remember this: Every trend is a threat to someone who

knows nothing about it. It is also a great opportunity if you

understand it.

V. My Personal Development Tips: Top 5 Reasons for
Learning NLP

Apart from Coaching I mentioned in last issue, NLP is another of
my 6 core skills I highly recommend. (The other 4 are Hypnosis,
Facilitation, Developmentalism and Hypno-Influencing). Neuro
Linguistic Programming (NLP) is the science of how people think
and act. This in turn affects the results people get.

My opinion is: Everyone should learn NLP if you want to get the
results you want and know exactly what results you want.

Here are my top 5 reasons why everyone who want to become
better should learn NLP.

1. You Communicate Much Better. This is the number one
reason why people learn NLP. NLP was designed as a model of
communication at her very beginning. (As NLP develops over time,
it is much more and deeper than this) You can make use of the
language patterns learned in NLP to persuade much better.
You can persuade others and your ownself to agree with you.

2. You Develop a Genuine Understanding of Yourself.
Through discovery of our thinking "filters", you know exactly what
you want and why you want them. You save a lot of time and effort.
Most people are wasting their time and effort in something they
do not really want. You clarify your direction in life. You know
where to go and then go there directly.

3. You Can Understand a Wider Variety of Other People.
Everybody knows that people are different, but not everybody treat
different people differently. They treat others according to their own
way. This is the source of mis-understandings and conflicts. It is
also the major reason why you can't persuade others to your opinion.
NLP gives us the insights on how and what are the differences
amongst different people. This knowledge is the key success factor
in turning from a good to a great leader, manager, salesperson,
parent, teacher, trainer, and/or helping professional.

4. You Make Decision Much Easier, Faster and Sharper. You
make all your own values, beliefs and rules apparent to yourself.
Originally, they are all in your "black-box" of your mind. Now you
make them crystal-clear right in front of you. Making decision is
ever so easy. Just imagine how good it is when there is no more
procrastination and every decision in your life is precisely made.

5. You Can Help Others to Improve. You gain an entirely new
language to describe what's going on with someone - their way
of thinking. You become a more effective and efficient helping
professional as you help them according to their mental models,
not your own.
