Thanks Olga for the reply. I know about all the drugs but I get the mesna by IV
and follow it at home with 6 pills.
I have maxed out on a few drugs Vincristine, doxorubicin and cycophosphamide
the first time around. They say I will be on chemo until I die or they find a
new drug. Do you think The Hair Club for Men can help a woman with cancer? What
would happen if the hair did grow back? Damn and here I was running my hands
through my new hair.
Have you lost a lot of weight? I went from 185 to 120, a size 12/14 to a 4/6
sounds good but I am 5"10. I did find Ben and Jerry's milk shakes 340 to 380
calories in 8 oz and taste great.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Mary Lynne

Hello, Mary!
How are you?
My name is Olga. I'm 28years old, actually will turn 29 on
Thanksgiving Eve.
I'm sorry to hear that your cancer got back. sorry!!! However, I
hope you can bit again!!!
I have Ewing's sarcoma in my lower area leg, and I'm having 5 day
treatment (every singe day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) every 5 weeks,
because between that I do have a 1 day treatment (which is effect me
even worse).
During 5 days treatment I do have exactly the same drugs that you
are having. Be honest, it's not too bad, of course I feel tired at
the end of the day however still functional. And last time I even
was lucky and recharged during weekends and went to work on Monday.
The chemo drugs go through IV approximately 1-1.5 hr, the reason why
we have to stay so long there, because these drugs effect bladder,
and protect from infection and damage we need to get 3 portion of
Mesna and of course a lot of a lot of fluids. Tomorrow my last day
of 5 day treatment, then I'll have a break for 3 weeks and I'm
scheduled for my surgery on Dec'.6. Very nervous about that, because
when I had a meeting with my surgeon on last week, they offered
another option as amputation, I was freaked, started cry and
couldn't stop, definetely was hard to hear about that any age.
However, GOD BLESS ALL OF US!!! And help us to go through that!!
Mary, just remember to drink a lot of water, and go to the bathroom
as often as you can.
Please, let me know if any other questions that I can help you with.
Also I'm a not big fan of drugs, however ATIVAN helps me, even
during chemo they usually give me 0.5 mg IV (approx. at 1 pm), just
to relax, and usually I take one pill before go to the bed.
Have a great day!
Sincerely,
Olga
