Re: [Ewings Sarcoma] Positive attitude

he had it in his spinal area- the tumor had grown on his sciatic nerve, which
caused tremendous pain over time, and after numerous physical therapy
treatments, ect they FINALLY did an MRI (won't go there w/ how upset we were it
took them so long!), which showed a tumor. SO b/c it was causing so much pain
they operated to remove the tumor and told us beforehand that it was 99% likely
to be benign- which of course had us relieved that it "wasn't" cancer. So he was
recovering in the hospital from the back surgery for a week and the morning he
was supposed to come home, he called me before i left to go get him and told me
that they came in that morning in shock and told them it was indeed cancer- not
only was that rare but also that it was Ewings, which we all know of course that
is in itself rare especially when it's a childhood cancer AND rare in children..
So anyways he still had to under go 9 rounds of chemo and 3 months of
radiation- which was daily. The chemo was in 3 and 5 day spurts so very similar
to yours. WE had to travel to Pittsburgh an hour away each time and leave our
toddler w/ grandparents which was awful PLUS i was 5 months pregnant when it all
started and luckily my dr was able to induce me while jason was between
treatments to ensure that i wouldn't miss him being there. It was a very very
rough time for us- bumpy road for sure! we still face the fear of it coming back
with each scan that is upcoming every couple of months but it's all in God's
hands and He knows what we can handle

Thank you , Randi, for your response. I appreciate that!!
My diagnoze is Ewing's sarcoma in the low are of my left leg. Thanks
God I do have it only in one place! And the plan for my treatments,
that I'll have 4 cycles of chemo (1 day and 5 day treatments), then
I'll have surgery, and then another 13 cycles. And I just started with
chemo!! Does your husband had the same??
