I would get on the www.acor.org group as well. They are wonderful and talk much
more frequently than this one. I lost my husband to this disease, but still try
to help where I can. I would ask on there. I have not heard of replacing the
remaining with this...however, I do not really look at new treatments anymore.
That group is great support though. Melissa

and I am 24 years old, diagnosed with
metastasized Ewings Sarcoma on March 22nd of this year. I am getting
chemotherapy every two weeks (odd cycles being 1 day of Vincristine,
Adriamycin, and Cytoxan; even cycles being 5 days of Etoposide VP-16
and Ifex). I am considering participating in a Sloan-Kettering study
where they are replacing remaining chemo sessions with a allogeneic
bone marrow transplant. Apparently they have only done this on a few
people (less than 10) and are only 2 years out. Meaning they have no
idea if it will increase the current 20% success rate (or even match
it) of the current chemotherapy regiment. I am interested to see if
anyone knows about this study and their thoughts on anything I
mentioned. I just learned of yahoo groups and I'm excited to join this
group and for any potential discussions concerning me, you, or
anything to do with Ewings Sarcoma.
Thank you!!!
Bobby
