Description
The purpose of our Support Group is to create the space where people who have been diagnosed with Erythema Nodosum (EN) can share information regarding their experiences in their quest for treatments and cures.
Erythema Nodosum is a form of Panniculitis that appears as Painful Red, Hot Lumps, Bumps or Nodules on the Legs or elsewhere.
It is thought to be an Autoimmune or Delayed Allergic Response, can be a reaction to a bacterial, fungal, or viral infection, or a side effect of certain medications. Most EN patients are younger women, but men, older women, and even children can be affected. Up to 50% of EN cases are idiopathic, where no trigger has been found.
Our members discuss all aspects of our health including Pyoderma Gangrenosum, Crohn's Disease, Sarcoidosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Depression.
Stress is a trigger for many EN sufferers, and we share methods of stress reduction as well as vitamin therapy, forgiveness, prayer, laughter, and prescription drugs both old and new.
We are conducting on-going polls to discover the effect of stress and hormones on EN. Stress has been shown to effect other autoimmune diseases in recent studies.
Our site includes "Member Case Histories", "Cured Members", informative Links and Files, and a large collection of EN Photos.
We welcome EN sufferers, their loved ones, and medical professionals. Our goal is to discover ways to lengthen our Remissions and diminish our Flare-ups. As a true Support Group, we provide a safe place where our members can freely express themselves and share their mutual support, respect and love.
