Hey everybody,

Hope all are well and enjoying spring. Horse Sense has released it's calendar of workshops and trainings for 2008. If you are interested, I'd be happy to send you an email to upcoming workshops. I've also attached it below, but am never sure if that will work or not.

Holler if we can be of any help...

All the best,

Shannon

Running with Mustangs: High Risk Youth and EACP
Horse Sense of the Carolinas, Inc., is offering an educational workshop designed to increase effective treatment of this challenging population as well as introducing participants to the powerful modality of Equine-Assisted Clinical Practice based on the Equine Assisted Growth And Learning Association’s (EAGALA) Model.

The program uses cognitive-behavioral theory and techniques presented in an experiential modality. Problem solving activities with horses are designed to help youth learn important cognitive-behavioral skills in a hands on, experiential setting that allows for “in vivo” learning to occur. The manual includes a brief review of the rationale for utilizing a cognitive-behavioral approach with this population, and explains how skills based in this theory can be relayed to youth in an innovative, experiential way.

June 20 & 21 and December 5 & 6. 2-Day Workshop Cost: $550, includes one copy of the Running with Mustangs Curriculum, breakfast, lunch & snacks both days. Click here to register

BodySense: Eating Disorders and EAP
Horse Sense offers an educational workshop for professionals working in the field of eating disorders using the alternative model of Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). EAP is a valid and reputable modality proven effective in the treatment of eating disorders for over 15 years. While participating in various experiential activities with horses, participants will recognize and address common issues challenging the eating disordered client through a solution-focused approach. Participants will develop the professional competence to help their clients practice new skill sets such as establishing healthy boundaries, assertiveness, and body awareness.

May 16 & 17 and October 10 & 11.  2-Day Workshop Cost: $550, includes one copy of the BodySense Curriculum, breakfast, lunch & snacks both days. Click here to register
