Angela:
Let me assure you that you are not crazy. They same thing happened to me.
What is sounds like you are having is a rare form of seizures called Complex
Multi-focal seizure disorder. I have these type of seizures and what you need
to find is a neurologist that specializes in these type of seizures. I can
still hear when I have seizures but can not respond. It is rare for this type
of seizure to show up on an EEG. I was told I was having pseudo (fake)
seizures, despite the fact that my pulse drops off becomes irregular, my breaths
sometimes stops completely and my blood pressure drops real low along with my
temperature. Just hang in there until you can get a good neurologist. There
are medications that work especially for this type of seizure. I have just been
started on Lamictal.
Good Luck and write anytime you may also email me personally if you need
anything.

Hi Everyone,
My name is Angela. I am 32 and live in Southern CA. I started
having seizures almost 4 years ago during my 3rd pregnancy. I have
had well over 50 or them. I am concious during them but can not
communicate or control my body. I have been to several neurologist
and they can't find anything with MRI and CAT scans. There just
doesn't seem to be any answers. I tried Neurontin for a while but it
did not help at all so I stopped taking them.
I just got the results today from my last EEG and it shows no sign of
seizure activity even though I had two seizures during the test! I
have a 24 hour EEG coming up soon and I'm wondering if I should
cancel it.
Has anyone else had trouble with getting a diagnosis? Does anyone
have any advice for me? I'm so tired of doing test after test with
no result and I'm tired of the seizures too. I would really
appriciate any advice!
Thanks, Angela
