I have the same kind of seizures or at least I did for 40 years before I had
surgery in 1999.
The returned seizures didn't exist until 2004,
when one night I had 2 mild seizures that woke me up. I'm on medication now and
nothing has happend since. I felt the way you do through my childhood and
teenage years. Yhen one day I met the man I would marry. That was in 1969. I'm
married 3 years later. We are married today.
He taught me to expect people to accept me for who and what I am. Sometimnes the
seizures were qiuite severe but he stood by me. and weraised two children. God
gave me two beautiful normal children., and the happiness that goes with them.
It's not a death sentence, but it up to you how it will be. If people have a
problem it's their loss and they can take a Flying F-------. Chances are ithis
guy would have found something wrong with something else. It's not you and you
are not crazy. What you are feeling is natural and if you didn't feel it there
would be something wrong. I think the thing to do is admit it to yourself that
it is part of who you are. I won't tell you what to do but this worked for me.
No one will know what you feel til they've walked a mile in your shoes. No one,
not even the man you're married to for 33 years.

Subject: [Epilepsy Support and Education] Hi I'm a new member!

I have siezures, And It's always really hard for me to tell people
about them. Because when they find out about it they all think I'm a
freak. I know I'm not but I'm starting to feal like I am. Like I'm
completely normal on the outside but a fraud inside. They last guy I
dated decided that he couldn't take it anymore so it only lasted for 2
months. I have Atypical Peti Mal Siezures, so it's not major. Am I
crazy to think this way? I've never told anyone this before. I've
tried to but everyone just passes it of as me being stupid. Am I?
Joy
