Re: [Epilepsy Support and Education] Headaches

Thanks Craig,
I am sorry to hear that you have a chronic migraine. I never thought about the
pressure being because of swelling but I am glad to know they make something
that will handle it. I am still learning...is the steady pressure like a dull
headache that never leaves but has times of sharp burning pains?

Angie

Hi Angie,

I have a chronic migraine, if that fits into the picture. It is settled on
my left temporal lobe as a steady pressure most of the time, but when it
swells up, it can hit a level 10 pain. I take medications to slow down the
pain on a daily basis, and to stop the pain if it swells up. The
medications I take to slow down the pain are what I also take for seizure
control. My Neurologist calls it killing 2 birds with one stone. They are
Topamax and Neurontin. The ones that I take in case it gets out of control
are Midrine and Maxalt. I also get very bad migraines after seizures.
