I am trying to spread awareness about these sleep-safe
pillows. These are not just for Epilepsy but other
medical issues listed below as well.
We had just had a person die in our group from
suffocation and I had a friend who did many years ago.
I just dont want to see it happen again.
I just bought these pillows a year ago. I am so glad that
I did. For I had nights that I was scared of having a
seizure, because of change of meds, and because my
husband was traveling alot.
Can you also place it in your links or
files for future use?
Please pass this info on to others in hoping to save a
life!
Thanks

Anti-Suffocation Pillows
Discount web site
http://www.sleep-safe.co.uk/id90.htm
These anti-suffocation pillows are made from a
pharmacist in the UK who had a son who had epilepsy.
There is 2,700,000 people in the U. S. who have
epilepsy and 50,000,000 worldwide. This year another
200,000 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with
epilepsy.
Seizures in up to 30% of people with epilepsy do not
respond to available medications.
New cases of epilepsy are most common among children,
especially during the first year of life. The rate of
new cases gradually declines until about age 10, and
then becomes stable. After age 55 or 60, the rate
starts to increase, as people develop strokes, brain
tumors, or Alzheimer's disease. (All of these
disorders can cause epilepsy.)
25,000 to 50,000 will die of seizures and related
causes, including status epilepticus, sudden
unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP), drowning and
other accidents.
The death rate among people with epilepsy is two to
three times higher than the general population and the
risk of sudden death is 24 times greater.
Because SUDEP typically happens at night, anxiety and
fear of being alone and helpless during a nocturnal
seizure may compromise sleep quality in patients with
epilepsy, thus increasing the likelihood of seizure
activity. So it seems that for many epilepsy patients
there develops a cycle: fear of nighttime seizures =
insufficient sleep = increased seizure activity.
SUDEP have suggested that the person may suffocate
from impaired breathing, fluid in the lungs, and being
face down on the bedding.
Sleep-Safe Pillows can aid in these medical
conditions:
Epilepsy - aftermath of meningitis / stroke
/Alzheimers /Dementia /Asthma / brain tumor /
breathing problems / head injury following a fall -
Downs syndrome -
cerebral palsy - congenital and developmental problems
- medication side effects
Sleep-Safe pillows should not be used for babies and
children under three years old. However, children who
are `at risk' should start using Sleep-Safe pillows as
soon as possible and continue to use them for as long
as they remain `at risk'. Sleep-Safe pillows are an
aid in the management of medical conditions in which
suffocation is a risk;
The 'newly made' firmness of Sleep-Safe pillows
decreases as the pillows 'relax' with use, however the
anti-suffocation properties remain unaffected.
Here is the DISCOUNT web site for the pillows.
http://www.sleep-safe.co.uk/id90.htm
Please place this in Favorites.
If you go to the main site, please make sure you go
back to the discount web site to buy your pillows.

Electrosmog
In a controversial analysis, scientist Alasdair Philips argues that
many everyday gadgets are filling our homes with electromagnetic
fields – and doing untold damage to us all.
There is a sinister side to the relentless winking lights, hum and
high-tech glamour of the machines that have become such an essential
part of our 21st-century lifestyle.
For those much-loved electronic appliances see not only that we are
well looked after, but also that we are surrounded by a potent sea of
electromagnetic fields (EMFs), a kind of 'electrosmog' that swirls
invisibly around and through us every day.
This does not come just from domestic appliances, but also power
lines, the wiring in our home, and telephone, mast and radio signals -
and I believe it is getting more aggressive, more dangerous and
harder to avoid every day. In fact, our exposure to electrosmog - the
fields of force associated with electric charges in motion - has
risen to a point where we are now experiencing levels that are
millions of times higher than those encountered by anyone living at
the start of the 20th century.
As a result, all of us have become guinea pigs in a great
electromagnetic experiment that I believe is the cause of much of our
daily stress, and may also be responsible for serious health problems
for you and your family.

If anyone is in the market for a really good nutritional supplement,
click on the link entitled "My Favorite Vitamin/Mineral Tablet" near the
bottom of my MS page at
http://www.webspawner.com/users/multscler1/index.html
Two tablets with each meal provides at least the minimum daily
requirement for most known vitamins and minerals. It is iron-free, and
contains no gluten, sugar, dairy, yeast, etc. All the minerals are in
the form of amino acid chelates for maximum absorbability. In addition,
It is being offered at a 30% discount. Its only drawback is that it does
not provide enough vitamin D (only 100 IU's per day), so there is a link
below it entitled "A Vitamin D Supplement."

Hello,
What does a lesion in brain indicate wrt epilepsy? Since amygdala is
related to fear, does that mean seizures indicate some deep rooted
fears of conscious or sub-conscious mind.
I will be grateful for any pointers.

I'd appreciate any feedback at amazon's website if you've read it.

I've found EFT VERY helpful with emotional issues.

Hi All!
Last night, I watched on Public Television a program about the
devastating effects of the 1918 bird flu pandemic. As someone who has
overcome multiple sclerosis using Edgar Cayce's holistic remedies, the
program inspired me to create a website called "Edgar Cayce's Influenza
Treatment" at

I suggest you bookmark the site for future reference.

Hello Everyone!
Edgar Cayce said that certain types of music can have definite
therapeutic value. In the years since the readings were given, a great
deal has been learned about the power of music to promote human health
and well-being. This site presents the work of a modern music therapist:

Hi Everybody!
Acupuncture is a system of energy healing that is part of Traditional
Chinese Medicine. It has been in use for over 5000 years and is based on
balancing energy flow in the body by inserting fine needles into
specific points on the skin.
In recent years, Gary Craig, an ordained minister, has devised a
modified form of acupuncture that does not employ needles. This new
therapy is called the Emotional Freedom Technic (EFT), and it has been
found helpful in treating numerous health concerns, especially mental
and emotional problems like anger, resentment, doubt, fear, phobias,
guilt, shame, depression, addictions, fetishes, compulsions,
self-injury, and eating disorders.
Silvia Hartmann, Ph.D., has written a practical guide that explains EFT
and shows how it can be quickly and easily administered for self
healing. For more information, click on

snopes.com vs. my.webmd.com
Folk, I'd like to share something with you pertaining to the topic I
posted just yesterday about `Cancer News from Johns Hopkins'. I
received via email from an uncle, read over it and then posted the
information on several of the epilepsy support groups I am a member
with. I later looked over the replies and read over the weblinks
people provided, which explained the truth about it. So my apologies
go out to everyone. But something that got to me came from one of
the other groups, and here is what was posted...
"I am always somewhat skeptical of things like this, so I often
check them on snopes.com, which investigates the kinds of 'news'
items like this that circulate around. I encourage you to read what
they have to say about it at
http://www.snopes.com/toxins/plastic.htm, then make your own
decision.
We must always be careful to consider the information we read. I
work in an industry which is often attacked, often the 'bad guy',
and I well know that much of what is presented about our products is
flat out wrong. So by that token, I am careful to consider what is
presented about other industries."
This has not been the only time that someone has brought to my
attention that things need to be checked into through snopes.com.
Well, because of what that individual posted, something came into my
mind this morning that maybe some of the snooping needs to be
preformed on snopes.com itself. So here is what I did.
I went to the snopes.com website, locate their search box and type
in the word epilepsy. Then click on the `GO' button and see what the
results turn out to be. And here's one for you...
Claim: episode of the popular kid's TV show Pokemon caused over
600 young children in Japan to have epileptic attacks.
Status: False
Example: [Collected on the Internet, 1999]
Now, here is a website I signed up a while back to receive free
newsletters because I enjoy information they provide about epilepsy
and that is through
my.webmd.com/medical_information/condition_centers/epilepsy/default.h
tm
Well, as it turns out, one of the recent bits of information
recently provided in their news is titled...
Avoiding 'Pokemon' Seizures From TV, Video Games: Rapidly Flashing
Lights May Trigger Rare Seizures, Experts Report
By Miranda Hitti WebMD Medical News; Reviewed By Brunilda Nazario,
MD on Tuesday, September 20, 2005
http://my.webmd.com/content/article/112/110307.htm
And BTW, check out the information on the webmd.com site because it
has some good guidelines about people with photosensitive epilepsy.
Two reports pertaining to the same thing, but the reports are 6
years apart. Which one would you believe is more accurate and
truthful, snopes.com or webmd.com?
What I am going to do from now on is keeping email information
warnings to myself and investigate it to see how accurate it really
turns out to be. After I read over the warning story I tossed out
all of my recycled plastic bottles refilled with water and juices,
which I had stored in my freezer. But now I'm going to collect some
more and do like I was doing beforehand.
Bruce
Cancer News from Johns Hopkins
This was received from a nursing supervisor at Greenville Memorial
Hospital, It was sent to their staff.
1. No plastic containers in micro.
2. No water bottles in freezer.
3. No plastic wrap in microwave.
Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This
information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breastcancer.
Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells ofour bodies.
Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this
releases dioxins from the plastic.
Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle
Hospital, was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He
talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we
should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic
containers. This applies to foods that contain fat.
He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics
releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the
body.
Instead, he recommends using glass, Corning Ware or ceramic
containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without
the dioxin.
So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc should be
removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn't
bad, but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use
tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.
He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants
moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is
one of the reasons.
Also, he pointed out that Saran wrap is just as dangerous when
placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is
nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of
the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper
towel instead.
This is an article I believe you should forward to all of your
family and friends - to anyone who is important in your life!
