epival, now he wants me to take two a day,I'm scared of the side effects
I may get because of stuff I've read about it.Has anyone had bad
experience or good experience while on Keppra?

Hi All!

I just looked in the TV listings for the program, "Psychic Detectives,"
and it was no where to be found. Apparently, after a run of only several
weeks, it has been taken off the air (at least in the Virginia Beach
area). For what it's worth, however, the show does have a website at

Hi All!

On occasion, Edgar Cayce used his great psychic gift to solve crimes
and locate missing persons. That work is still going on in the present
by others, and their successes are documented every Wednesday night on
NBC TV in a program called "Psychic Detectives." To my way of thinking,
it is a marvelous demonstration--for all the world to see--of genuine
and useful psychic information.

I believe this program is helping to set the stage, prime the pump, and
prepare the world for the introduction of the Cayce material to the
masses.

Check it out!

All the best,

Dudley Delany

Having epilepsy for 18 years now, not only did I believe it had
something to do with my digestive system only a few years after the
seizures started, I now know it did. For myself, mainly in the
location of where the small intestine connects to the large
intestine, at the lower right quadrant of my abdomen. Digested food
moving and triggering my seizures.

I have seen numerous doctor, have tried many combinations of
medications, gone through nearly all testing pertaining to seizures
and epilepsy, up until the final possibility of pre-surgical EEG
with the result and risks of permanently loosing my speaking
abilities if further brain surgery were continued. The only other
possibilities the doctors explained to me were the VNS and future
new medications. With what I felt about the VNS beforehand along all
the feedback I've seen and heard thereafter, there is no way that
I'm going to do the VNS. Plus, belief that the Ketogenic diet would
greatly increase my bad cholesterol. The current medication I'm
taking of lamictal and keppra are controlling the grand mal and
complex partial seizure, but still nothing to control the simple
partials/auras. Because of all this I started to wander if there are
any other possibilities available but just not greatly known about.
I searched the Internet and found a possible connection to Abdominal
Epilepsy. All of which I have been working on since January 2005, by
following with the information through The Association for Research
& Enlightenment, A.R.E. with their Epilepsy Treatment Plan.

Think for a moment. The Ketogenic diet is a special high-fat, low-
carbohydrate diet that helps to control seizures in some people with
epilepsy. Are there any possibilities that there could be other
diets that may work better and/or just as well, to control seizures
in some other people with epilepsy? Then you have the VNS [Vagus
Nerve Stimulator], which is designed to prevent seizures by sending
regular, mild impulses of electrical energy to the brain. Could
there be anything else that could also send impulses to the brain to
prevent seizures and/or shorten the length of time of how long the
seizure lasts? Yes everyone, there is. And not only are these
helpful for epilepsy, but also for many other medical disorders just
as well. Again, because of The Association for Research &
Enlightenment, A.R.E. with their multiple Treatment Plans. All based
on the Edgar Cayce remedies and research preformed through the
Meridian Institute.

One lady, Linda Caputi, RN, has a daughter who went through a seven-
year struggle and final victory over epilepsy. Her daughter was
diagnosed with epilepsy when she was a teenager and she went through
the conventional approach of trying various medications to control
her seizures, which didn't work. A tumor was found and removed from
her head, the seizures stopped for a short amount of time then
restarted. But this time they were coming from a different location
in her brain so she eventual turned to an alternative approach and
had her last seizure in February 2001. Sometimes, Linda placed an
ice cube at the base of her daughter's neck which helped to prevent
the seizures and/or shorten the length of time of how long the
seizure would last. With Linda now working full-time at the A.R.E.
Library, I spoke with her directly and she provided me one of the
two books she wrote herself, title `Epilepsy: Jody's Journey' and
mentioned that another book is soon to come out around mid-summer
with both of her two books combined and additional recorded
information of Edgar Cayce's patients with epilepsy. I'll keep
everyone posted for when the book is available.

I began the treatment plan in January with the BASIC CAYCE DIET
which gave me the results of lowering the frequency and lowered the
strength when the simple partial seizures took place. This also
helped to lower my bad cholesterol level. With these results I
contacted the A.R.E. Health & Rejuvenation Center and scheduled to
receive the three days in a row abdominal castor oil packs and the
Spa Package #4 - Internal Cleanse on the following forth day. "Cayce
insisted that most cases of epilepsy were caused by adhesions in the
lacteal ducts of the abdomen. Treatment is directed at breaking up
adhesions in the lacteal duct area which is located along the right
side of the abdomen." The Internal Cleanse focuses on improving the
functioning of the lungs and large intestine (the colon). [before
posting this on here]I re-contacted the A.R.E. and received
information that the minimum age limit for the colon hydrotherapy is
18 years old, but EVERYTHING else is allowed with parent's concent.

Compared to the foods available 100 years ago with a lot of what's
around today, it "…can interfere with absorption of nutrients
(particularly fats and proteins). Also, adhesions interfere with
the circulation of blood and lymph and cause the nervous system to
be thrown out of balance or `coordination.' Nervous system
incoordination is a primary factor cited in the Cayce readings on
epilepsy."

So maybe you can give all this a try to see if it can be more
beneficial, to possibly eliminate the need of the VNS and/or various
types of brain surgery. These spa packages and treatment plans can
also be helpful and beneficial even if you or someone you know does
not have epilepsy. Try it out. But if you do and would like to stay
in any of the many hotels and resorts located nearby, mostly within
two block from the Atlantic Oceanfront, try to schedule it sometime
between November and March because this is when the lowest and best
rate prices are available.

I've listed the websites below and if you have any questions and or
comments please let me know either by replies on here or message to
my email, just include the words of epilepsy or seizures in the
subject if you email me so I know that it won't be junk mail.

Hi everyone

I came across with Edgar Cayce's name just a few weeks ago.
As with Dr Clark, kinesiology and Cranio-Sacral Teraphy, I'm in a
stage where I'm trying to gather as much information as I can.

I have 3 main questions:

1) Has anyone in this group really been cured?
2) Is it essencial to go to A.R.E., in order to get a precise
treatment with Cayce's protocol, or can it be done home based with
satisfying results?
and 3) If Cayce's protocol misses, would you think to be a wise
choice to try, for instance, Dr Clark's protocol?

Thank you in advance.
Yours,

Filipe

You are misquoting me, which makes *your* post meaningless and unfair. What I
said was "You *might* have spared yourself the drugs and the surgery had you
tried Edgar Cayce's epilepsy treatment." We will never know whether Cayce's
treatment would have worked for her or not. Clearly she did not know what the
treatment was and had never even tried it, despite the fact that this is a
*Cayce* epilepsy group. In that sense, all her posts were off-topic. I am glad
that the surery worked for her. However, as I pointed out I a previous post,
lesions that cause epilepsy can be treated with non-surgical means, like
Cayce's, and it just might have helped her.

Dudley,

Oh this is too much between you and Liz. Liz is right when she says
surgery was the best way for her since she had a structural lesion
which was causing her seizures and the freedom she got from seizures
since surgery proves her point. And its none of our business to tell
her "This would have been better for you" or that "Had you done this,
it would have spared you of surgery" and the like. Its meaningless
and its not fair.

Dear Liz,

You are completely wrong in assuming flat out that--because surgery
worked for you--the Cayce approach would not also have worked for you.
To me, that is a negative and offensive assumption, particularly on a
board devoted to Edgar Cayce's epilepsy treatment, which has--without
drugs and surgery--been such a great help to so many.

All the best,

Dudley

Dear Dudley,

I refuse to get myself into a war of words and this will be my LAST
post on this subject.

My point is, your negative and offensive observation that I would have
been spared of surgery and drugs had I tried EC approach, is
completely WRONG. I'm not for or against any approach; I am for
convincing results and in the process, just mentioned the positive
results I got from surgery and there ends the matter (FULL STOP)

Liz

Dear Liz,

I think it is wonderful that your surgery addressed the lesion that was
causing your seizures and has resolved the problem. However, there are
other ways to treat epilepsy-causing lesions, and Edgar Cayce's
non-surgical approach has been quite successful, as you can see from the
nine case studies presented at

http://www.cayce.com/epilepsycaputi.htm

Also, if you click on "Epilepsy Project" at

http://www.meridianinstitute.com/projects.htm

you can read research supporting Cayce's treatment.

This report by a physician is particularly moving:

http://www.webspawner.com/users/epilepsyihaveanewson/index.html

As I am sure you are aware, the name of this group is "Epilepsy
Alternatives," and it is primarily for persons interested in Cayce's
epilepsy treatment. Surgery is not an alternative treatment, and in that
sense, all your posts to this group have been off-topic. In addition,
your negativity toward and obvious ignorance of Cayce's epilepsy
treatment lead me to the conclusion that you do not really belong here.

May I suggest you advertise your miracle epilepsy cure on boards that
are concerned with main-stream epilepsy treatments.

All the best,

Dudley

Hi Dudley,

I'm sorry I don't subscribe to your point of view. In my case, the
epilepsy was clearly documented to be due to a localised structural
lesion and all diagnostic tests were concurrently pointing to it. And
it follows logically that, the removal of the lesion is the right way
to treat it, and the results proved it ! I don't regret it one bit. I
only wish that I should've had done it earlier.

I also don't believe that some readings or things like castor oil
packs, honey, olive oil, dietary changes etc would stop my seizures.
In fact there is no dearth of uncnoventional approaches I've tried in
the past, and all of them ultimately proved to be a waste of time and
effort.

Moreover, there are millions of people afflicted with epilepsy
worldwide and if EC approach was the magical solution, it would have
spread like wild fire long time back and would've become the de-facto
standard for treatment and wouldn't have necessitated any kind of
advertisement support, but you see the reality is entirely different.
Got my point ?

Regards,
Liz

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I posted on the board. Well, last week it was
my first anniversary after my surgery (left ATL).

I'm so glad to report that I've been totally free of seizures and
auras ever since the surgery (before surgery I used to average 6 CPS
per month plus lots of auras).

I'm also on the very last step before stopping one of the two drugs
I'm on and afterwards I'll be on mono-therapy. I was also given a
schedule for a very slow lowering of that drug too.

For the 1 year post-op review, they did a repeat EEG on me and found
no epileptiform discharges. Other tests included VA/VF and a very long
session with the neuropsychologist.

I pray for the good health of everyone.

Best regards,
Liz

Hi, I'm new to this group. My seizures started about 9 years ago and
are not well controlled by medication. They're preceded and
accompanied by clear abdominal symptoms (bloating, gurgling, etc.). I
previously had an injury to my lower pelvis and tailbone; it really
fits the Cayce model. I've been doing the castor oil packs and have
received chiropractic adjustments (I do other positive things too).
I'm not seeing much, if any, real progress. I live in the northern VA
area and suspect I really need osteopathic rather than chiropractic
work done. Has anyone in this area worked with an osteopath who is
willing to address epilepsy? (And if open to the Cayce readings, that
would be even better!)

Also, a warning for me is a bad taste in my mouth. During these
"seizure periods" the bad taste then becomes intense along with a
coating in my mouth. It's not a partial seizure, my breath actually
takes on a different odor. Finally after a couple of days it subsides
and I'm able to eat again. Has anyone else had this experience?

Thanks!
