I had my first seizures when I was 6 months old. They came and went every few years - my parents hid the fact that I had epilepsy from me - my mother would rather believe that i was mentally ill than that I had epilepsy - even was checking me into a mental institution as a result of what she should have been fully aware was a seizure.
When I was 14 I had three seizures in school and was put on medicine. I had a great doctor - Imad Jarjour in Pittsburgh. After 2 1/2 years I told him I wanted off the meds and he agreed. He kept an eye on me for a while and then told me I no longer had epilepsy. In the beginning he told me that my feelings of de ja vu were really mini seizurs that I had been having (I started keeping a dream journal so I know that my dreams really did come true, even if it was only a minute here or there, and rarely about anything significant.) After being put on the medicine I didn't have any dreams come true for a long time, so I agreed they must have been the result of epilepsy.
I just graduated college in December and as a result I don't have any health insurance. I had a few dreams come true last semester, and now they are coming true several times a week, however briefly - something as simple as realizing I was eating fruit loops, while posting on a thread vary similar to a dream I had last month (I haven't eaten cereal in years) was enough to bring that strange feeling that I was told was de ja vu back.
I am getting really worried that these might be a sign of returning seizures. But since I don't have any health insurance at all, I am reluctant to go to the doctors. i am not sure what I should do.

thank you Michael,I will try to contact them on Monday...but I doubt if they will be able to send someone to the school on such short notice.Maybe I can postpone the meeting until I can get someone from the Epilepsy Foundation to be there AND/OR an Advocate.I was told that the Advocates may not be able to make the meeting on Thursday, because it is such short notice...I fear that I will have the same problem with the Epilepsy Foundation as well...BUT...all I can do is give it a shot.I have nothing to lose..{except for my mind.. ;) }thank you so very much for your support..hugs&blessings,Dee
