I couldn't agree with your statements on faith more!
I, too, feel that faith and religion are completely
separate things and have had the same type of
experiences that you have had.
I read the Celestine Phophecy a few years ago. It
mentions the first step to a highly spiritual self is
starting to notice little coincidences that happen in
your life to move it along in a positive way. Ever
since I started taking notice of that my life has
grown positively in leaps and bounds. I found the
perfect husband, got married, started my own
business, got a house and am now expecting a
baby.
Somehow just noticing little things and keeping
faith instead of trying to control every aspect of my
life has moved me along. I, too, am not a religious
person but I do consider myself to be highly
spiritual. There is a big difference. I see it as
either following your own path, or following a path
that someone else has presented to you.
Please don't get me wrong. I would never bash a
religion of any sort. I am just saying that it is all
in how you perceive it and what you take from it
yourself. That is just how I see things personally.
This is a great topic!
