I wrote this for a poetry club i am in, just thought i would share it
with all of you also.


This War

where have all the soldiers gone
troops who mobilize at dawn
moving swiftly over land
buried in the desert sand
cry a tear for those now lost
and remember it is just the cost
of being one of the super powers
remeber those lost with the towers
war has begun we cannot stop
we now must prove we are the top
we must show all that we can win
pull our strength from within
band together and show no fear
cherish all who we hold dear
it may be our last day alive
but we must take it in strive
for freedom and liberty we do fight
for all that's fair, just and right
we keep on living day to day
plant the fields plow the hay
pick the fruit down off the tree
pay the speeding ticket fee
make sure rent is paid on time
find a new tree to climb
life goes on with no change
which to some is really strange
they run around scared and frantic
creating such a outblown panic
with nothing really to be done
there's lots of targets, we're not one
why should i worry lose my mind
the fear in me i cannot find
missiles and rockets cannot reach
from that land to our beach
so go on live your life
love your husband or your wife
worry as a second thought
and remember all of those who fought
