It is with deep regret we announce that World Trade Center Rescuer
EMT Anthony "Tony" Santamarina FDNY EMS lost his battle with cancer
on November 24th 2008, at the age of 54. Tony was a father,
grandfather, brother, and son. A member of FDNY EMS for 19 years Tony
had been assigned to Battalion 52 and was assigned to Communications
on Light Duty until his termination in 2005. Tony had been a member
and former union delegate of The Uniformed EMTs, Paramedics & Fire
Inspectors - F.D.N.Y. - Local 2507 Affiliated with District Council
37, American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees, AFL-
CIO
The Santamarina family has requested a family only service. In lieu
of flowers or contributions the family request that donations be made
to The Autism Speaks Foundation in memory of Anthony "Tony"
Santamarina.
Tony was a member of the World Trade Center Rescuers Foundation, and
had been a supporter and advocate of World Trade Center Rescuers
issues. Our sympathy goes out to the Santamarina family.
