Re: [EMS Fire Police PTSD] Secondary Stress!!! and Labeling of Diagnosis

Hi Rex,

sorry, but i just home, and I'm trying to eat some garbage lol. I
have been told that I'm dealing with many different issues, and try tried to
label me with depression, but every time they have brought it up, I have stead
flatly denied it. My thinking is that I have fought so much crap in my life,
that this leads to behaviors and thinking that others don't have, but this
doesn't make me depressed. In fact it shows that no matter what has been thrown
at me, I have found a way to over come it. It might take me a little while, and
take some adjustment, but I can and I do it mostly on my own. They have tried,
and for awhile, talked me into anti depressants, but they almost killed me. They
were none he wiser, so that is when I realized that FOR me, I had to figure what
worked the best,. Granted I'm not dancing on no cloud nine, but I am dealing
with my crap, and I subject myself to some of there input, but only because I
have, perhaps a
vain hope, that I might be lead to a door that will lead me to have a happier
life.
Sorry if this isn't what you wanted, and I think that you need to do
whatever is best for you, and that might be doing what they suggest, but don't
forget, it is your life, you are in control of it, not them, unless you
give them the power.

Subject: [EMS Fire Police PTSD] Secondary Stress!!! and Labeling of Diagnosis

Has anyone within this group ever been diagnosed as having secondary stress at
anytime. If so how did you and/or your therapist come to that diagnosis?

Also several years ago I was dx'd as having depression, however having only the
VA to see for now they know of my ongoing situation with dealing with 9-11
issues and other medical issues, but refuse to list any other diagnosis that
have been presented that was a result with my involvement with EMS and Emergency
Response. Is anyone going or has anyone gone through the same problems as
myself?

Rex
