After returning home from the holidays, I felt drained. I thought the trip with
the uncivilized children (Not mine but my friends) which caused my mother to ask
us to leave after witnessing a shoving match between my 44 yr old friend and her
son who is 12 was too exhausting.
Days were spent on the bed sleeping, drained, in conflict with scheduled items
and obligations and not to mention the house cleaning, laundry and meals not
being accomplished.
I had chest pains last week and went to the ER A G A I N! This time only
a chest xray was done. I got IV antibiotics and cough syrup although I wasnt
coughing and more antibiotics to take at home and of course meds for the
posibility of a yeast infetion TMI but it would avoid me returning to the doc's
in a few days and spending MORE money out of pocket because Work Comp wont pay
for it but if i get the script ahead of time all I am out is the script not just
the script and doctor's visit expense. NO ABG (Arterial Blood Gas), CBC or BMP
(basic metabilic panel) or thyroid function test.
OK, so I follow up with my pulmonologist and here is the bigger more
disturbing news. Upon finding out my lung capacity function is between 59-66%
in combined PFT (pulmonary function tests) I got no new meds, no additional test
requested like a ct scan or anything, just we will see you in March!
I know my situation wont improve and that it takes time for me to digest all
the information not to mention when I am sick, to handle things but for crying
out loud, do I need to be dead, added to the list of critical care for the
medical community to realize this stuff we are enduring is happening at
lightning speed? I described my constant pain and debilitating fatigue but no
one thought of requesting a ct scan stat or biopsy?
It is no wonder 52 yr old officer Borja is in critical care before they placed
in on a transplant list. The sad horribly scary thought is that now its too
late.
