Char,
Stick with the counseling and keep reaching out to us here. I know
being involved with someone who doesnt have full control of their
mental health might at times make us want to help them
unconditionally be always keep in mind YOUR safety comes first. You
are responsible for you but cant be held responsible for another
person's actions.
Guilt is big in a situation like yours. It can feel like a heavy
burden and a heavy weight on you. Just remember, we cant help how
we were built. A lot of people if they could would run out and get
plastic surgery to fix the outside, but the inside is not a quick
fix. When you have a mental health disability it is more difficult
because your reality and clarity is not always the best.
I want to let you know we have been there, facing issues, feeling
the guilt which to most PTSD sufferers can be huge.
Here we dont judge but we vent, scream and share.
Today we have had several thunderstorms and a few tornados touched
down (none near me).
If you want to chat, someone is always around. My dsl connection
has been sporadic today but I will try to be available as much as
possible.
We are walking the same road or highway, just that some of us are at
a different speed! Hopefully we can help!
I got my PTSD line of duty on my last job as a rescue worker. It
will be 5 years in Sept.
