Re: Introduction

welcone to the family, My name is amy i am the founder here... it is
hard to go thru incidents and not get any help, but you have found a
place here for help. feel free to vent yell scream, tell us how you
feel, what you fear, why you cant sleep. no one will judge you
here. we have been thru a lot of different trauma here, we cannot
tell you what will make the panic attacks stop, but we cn offer you
how we made it past them. it can get better, you can have your life
back. you said you are taking drugs are they perscribed by your
doctor? are they specifically for your panic attacks? do they help
you? I ask because i went thru several different courses of
medication before i found some that helped me. I was on paxil,
klonipin, and xanax. while on paxil with the help of the memebrs
here i began to learn how to identify my triggers, and i went off the
paxil. i still have a bottle of klonopin that i keep for those bad
days. they are few and far between now, and i hope they get further
apart at the time keeps going by. My trauma is now 10 years old, i
started this group in 2001 because i felt alone, there was no one i
could turn to now i have a large family of people always willing to
listen and offer a ear. i hope you find the same here. We are not
doctors, nor are we counselers, but we are survivors....and after the
number of the counsellers we have all been thru, most of us will tell
you finding one who understands what we are going thru better then
the people here who have lived it, is near impossible. I need to get
going, i am on vacation right now in africa thru the end of the month
and i have to pay by the minute for my internet, please feel free to
post as often as you like, if you cant sleep at night, feel free to
sign in and just type, tell us what your thinking or how your
feeling, or just tell us something you did that day. I learned the
thing that helped me move past, and learn what my triggers are and
how to deal with them, was telling my story, and talking. the more i
talked about it and told my story the more i understood myself.

amy
