NETT is the initials of the National Emphysema Treatment Trials, which
is the experimental program I mentioned in my other email. If your
pulmonologist agrees that you might be a candidate for this, he/she can
sign you up for the preliminary tests. After about 6 weeks of tests and
rehab and other stuff they will pick half of everyone signed up for the
surgery and the other half will only get rehab and breathing treatments.
There are several hospitals in the US that are doing these trials. I do
have a list if you would like to know if any are close to you.
