Hello, Sorry to hear about your wife O'Neil, have you heard
about EFFORTS

I was diagnosed with emphysema a few weeks ago. (Not long
after I had given up smoking). I thought that I was "ill"
but reading messages from people at EFFORTS and hearing
about your wife I realise that I am not as badly off as I
thought I was.

I joined because I want to find out _exactly_ what this
emphysema is, and how to improve my breathing, if I can.

I am "puffing" steroids twice a day. I have put on weight,
found out that I also have an under active thyroid gland. I
have to lose weight.

I do do quite a bit of walking. We have a smallholding 900'
up a small mountain. Horses sheep and goats need tending
every day. Just takes longer now.

I had my last cigarette at 10;10 p.m. on February 28 1999,
That is exactly six months ago. :-))
