Intention vs Willpower - are we trying too hard?   Message List

Re: [ET2] Intention vs Willpower - are we trying too hard?

And there is another aspect to this.

I have found, working by myself as well as with clients, that if we get
into a mindset of "I want to get rid of this" progress may be very
slow, strenuous or may stop altogether.

I think that "want to get rid of something" is a lot like using will
power to get the energy flowing. Both seem to create additional pressure
which appears to be provoking a kind of "resistance" response in the
energy system.

What I found helpful is:

1. First *accept* that the problem/energy/disturbance *is there*.
2. Relax, breathe deeply and calmly
3. *Allow* the system to heal
4. *Allow* the energy to soften & flow. Silvia's question "Where does
this need to go?" is excellent for that!!!
5. *Assist* (not force) the energy on its way through the body.

EmoTrance is EASY. And whatever we put will power into does hardly ever
stay easy.
