Thanx for the book title. I'll be logging into Amazon soon after
this. :) BTW, I live in New York.
The thing about you getting in trouble for reporting the abuse--
That's my fear about saying something. I'm only a practicum student,
and I *know* how much power these people have to give me a reference
for next year, or not; to make me look bad in front of my school, or
not.
My prevous job I was a "paid volunteer," if that makes sense. IN
other words, very very low on the totem pole. Long story.
In all, I think my situation comes from the fact that my lowly status
(student-unpaid; volunteer, etc)--makes me an easy target for staff
who don't want to take the blame. "That kid killed himself because
the STUDENT didn't intervene right. So don't look at me." "Oh, the
ignorant volunteer couldn't get me fired, so I'll torture her till
her last day here. Mu haha." And so forth. Although....the same
people I'm having problems with, have also been cruel to their same-
level coworkers as well, from time to time. So, who knows what the
deal is.
I agree with you that it should be illegal, and I wish I could slap a
big hefty charge on these people. Maybe I should prepare a document
or two to keep on hand, just in case??
