katzmeow,
I've never had that experience before, I had the
experience of being the newest kid on the block in a
library and been treated like someone who didn't know
any better. I understand what you went through (and
are going through). I decided after going to the
union that they weren't much better so I took my pride
and my brains and left them to figure it out for
themselves. Right now I'm working in a laundromat,
and aside from the occassional bruises, am much
happier. I also have an exroomate who was using me as
a scapegoat for her problems with glucose levels,
blood pressure and moodswings. I was told by my
boyfriend that I was trying my best to please her and
put my own self aside. I am now speaking to someone
with the university interfaith office in addition to
going to services. The interfaith counselling isn't
relgious in any way, so that might help, they also
have a sliding scale, lowest cost is 7$ per hour
session. right now I too am working on boosting my
own selfesteem (which took yet another slap).
there are also little things you could do for
yourself, like buying something you've always wanted
(that latest bestseller by your favorite author), or
go for a manicure or pedicure (I had one done for the
first time, a birthday present by the exroomate before
she moved out). I hope this helps somewhat.
take care and let me or us know how you're doing
