I have just written my first book called DOMESTIC ABUSE OUR STORIES ISBN#
1-4137-0720-3, released 4/04 by Publish America. I was in an abusive
relationship which is what inspired me to write this book. I took different
stories from women that I talked with and incorporated them into this book. This
book was a wonderful way for me to get past my own abuse and to be able to move
forward.
There are stories included about college and high school girls being abused by
their boyfriends as well as women who have been married for many years. This
could even be a good book for a women's studies group or class.
My hope is that this book will help other women in this situation to get away
or get help before it is too late. Some of them manage to get out of the
situation before it is too late, others do not. I am hoping to bring a further
awareness about domestic abuse to the public as well as help other women.
I think that this book is a good resource for women in this situation as well
as their families. Or even people just trying to understand what happens in
these homes.
I have gotten some very good reviews about my book. If you check
www.barnesandnoble.com, www.amazon.com and www.ms.magazine.com (under their
bookshelf) you can see some of them. It has also been chosen as an editor's pick
on msmagazine.com I also happened to find some good things on www.google.com
when I put in the title of my book and my name. There is even a review from
Harvard, Kent and Georgia State University recommending my book for women's
studies groups.
I have another book due out in late 2004 titled Murder in New England &
Closing the Circle. My third book, a follow up to the first is just titled
Domestic Abuse, it is in with the publisher now estimated release date will most
likely be in 2005.
