Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Position Available at the West Haven Child Development Center, Inc.

Currently there is a position available for a pediatric nurse
practitioner or a family nurse practitioner. It is a full time
position, 35 hours (days M-F) 12 mos. Salary $75,000 with full
benefits including health, dental, life insurance and a pension
plan.
This individual most possess excellent clinical skills, be able to
supervise student nurse placements, as well as a willingness to
explore new ideas in this field.
The West Haven Child Development Center, Inc. is a private
nonprofit, educational center, which has been promoting good health
and optimum child development to the community for 30 years. The
center believes in a team approach to working with children and
families. Currently an education coordinator, social worker and
mental health consultant make up the team. We are excited about a
full time pediatric nurse practitioner joining our team. We are
looking for a motivated individual to add to our model innovative
team approach to delivering services to young children and their
families.
The responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner will include, but not
necessarily be limited to the following: maintaining health records,
maintaining First Aid Kits, evaluating toys and/or equipment for
safety, observing diaper changing area and diaper changing
procedures, observing and providing health screenings for individual
children, sharing supplementary materials with staff and parents,
communicating with staff and parents about specific problems
regarding health care, providing consultation and acting as a
resource person to staff and parents, providing in-service
education, administer medication including epi-pen and asthma
treatments when necessary, and documenting his/her activities and
observations as required in nursing log.
