Based from the context of pre-hospitalemergency care the protocol is that
imobilize the biten area and keep the patient calm and lower the biten area from
the heart to delay the venom to be absorb. The higher the beaten area from the
heart the more the faster is the absorption and distribution of venom to the
body so it was advised to lower the biten area.

lot of literature says to immobilize and place below the heart. I
just recently read an article in JEMS magazine that stated you should
immobilize and elevate. I also found it in Deja Review Emergency
Medicine. I was wondering what is the protocols at other hospitals
because unfortunately we do not have a set protocol in my area.
