Subject: [emergency-nurse.org] Unit Of Service Budgeting
Hello! Can anyone share what their ED use in computing the number of
Employees/Full Time Equivalent (FTE's)?
My facility uses Unit of Service like most of our ambulatory services.
It is based on annual volume.
For example, if you budget based on UOS factor of 3 (meaning each
client will receive a total of 3 hours of direct care from all staff)
and your total volume is 10000, you will budget for 15.38 FTE. (10,000
multiply by 3, divide by 1950 which is the annualized hour that each
full time employee serves)
If you use are using UOS, what factor do you base it on?
If you don't use UOS, what method do you follow?
Thanks.
