If you are working in a higher acuity (or even if it is not), I think
it is important from a professional standpoint to achieve
certification in your area. I have a CCRN, and will be taking the the
Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) soon. It shows you have a
knowledge base and a commitment to your practice and a motivation to
excel.
