I stayed in the same hospital too. Trying to pick up extra time is
hard, I am not considered PRN and the PRN and regular ER staff will
get shifts over me. I am considered crosstrained. I have picked up a
couple of shifts in the ER, and didn't get to eat lunch both times.
I am not as tired or crabby either, since I started in PACU. I have
noticed that PACU nurses are very anal about things, in the ER that
didn't happen as much. You didn't have time to worry about the
patient status being changed in the transport tracker, the sticker
being in proper order in the case book, just little things that get
stressed too much. It drives me crazy!!!!!
