Re: [emergency-nurse.org] OT -Kinda

The nurse manager where I work is caring. In fact, if I had to describe her
style of management, I would say she runs our ED as if she were a loving mother
to adult children. She trusts, protects and supports us. If she finds out
anyone has hurt us, she goes after them. There has been at least one occasion
where she has found out that one of "us" was hurting us. She took swift and
appropriate action and that one was dealt with by the authorities. Overall, our
nurse manager is fabulous! I work at St Francis Hospital, Charleston SC.

Take heart, wonderful nurse managers are out there. You might have to look
for a while, but they do exist.

You're right Andrew, on both points. The only reason the police weren't notified is that management was told and acted so fast to offer her a retirement. Don't...
