If I were you, my plan would be to get on the ground critical care transport
team. I don't know about transferring to a Level 1 trauma center-they tend
to have different departments (Trauma, Cardiac, Peds, etc) inside the ER
which would limit your experience unless you rotate through all of them. My
idea would be to stay where you are-or find a Level 2 which isn't as
specialized and divided so you can get more exposure to different areas of
nursing.



I am the Chief Flight Nurse for the largest air ambulance provider in the
state of Colorado-if I were looking at your application, I would want ground
experience, well-rounded critical care experience (meaning both ER & ICU),
and also either CCRN or CEN. You can get your CFRN after you hire onto a
flight service-most places give you 6mo-1 year.



Let me know if you have more questions k? I know nurses are notorious for
"eating their young", & being rude to new-comers into the flight industry.
