New EDNF Resource / Saturday the 24th Concert / Way to Help When Sh   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #360 of 643 |
The Ehlers-Danlos National Foundation has created a brand new glossy
publication called the Medical Reference Guide. The goal is to
distribute this brochure to as many medical practitioners and
healthcare organizations as possible. If you would be willing to
distribute copies to your healthcare providers, please contact the
EDNF at staff@.... There are guidelines for presenting the
information and documenting its distribution, and you would be
required to send us a SASE to receive the materials. But, this is
the most recent medical information about the disorder – written
by physicians, for physicians – and will serve to raise awareness
and hopefully serve ultimately to improve the quality of treatment
received by fellow sufferers of EDS.

Saturday, September 24 @ 1:00pm – Sunshine Christian Outreach
Center, 21811 Georgia Ave, Brookeville MD

The 2nd Annual Rock for Research Benefit Concert

The Mary Ann Redmond Band www.marb.com
Cactus Liquors www.cactusliquors.com
KENIN www.kenin-music.com
Tim Metz of the former WORRYSTONES
http://www.aandronline.com/worrystones.html
Laughing Man http://www.laughing-man.com/songs.html
Others TBA…

Tickets will be sold at the gate and will be $15 for people 12 and
over, $10 for kids (ages 7 to 12). Kids under 7 get in free.

(Note, the event is non-religious, so don't be scared off by the
name of the place.) This is a very scenic outdoor venue of rolling
hills and a small lake; but they have an indoor facility for the
bands to play in case the weather doesn't cooperate. [Please note
that the campground space is no longer available.] There will be
plenty of food, a beer garden, vendors, silent auctions, etc. The
event is family friendly – the place even has some farm animals
to amuse the kids. All profits from food & drinks, etc. go to the
Foundation. For more information or to make a donation now, please
contact the president of the EDNF DC Metro Charter, Sheri Collins at
301-570-5718, sunshinestudios@....

This may be a questionable time for you to think of enjoying
yourself while our country is facing difficulties – but if you
wish to have a great day to support a wonderful cause while having a
nice relaxing time in the country, please join us for this event.
Non-perishables for Katrina victims are also being collected at this
site – so this may be an opportunity you were wishing for to help
out with that as well.

"The purpose of EDNF DC Metro Group is to RAISE AWARENESS and
raise funds; and to provide informational, moral and emotional
support to each and every person with or without EDS in the
Washington DC Metro area."

Here is an excellent way you can help the EDNF while you are
shopping online at the same time!

iGive.com is an online shopping service that helps raise money for
charities. Over 600 online stores will donate a percentage of each
purchase you make to support the cause of your choice. EDNF already
participates with iGive, thanks to former Executive Director, Linda
Neumann-Potash. It's free to join, and there is no additional cost
or risk to you when you shop through iGive.com. Sign up here:
