New discoveries in the Genome Era are changing the face of science, medicine
and drug development, bringing the opportunities and challenges of
personalized medicine to the forefront. These discoveries occur so rapidly
that the public may be challenged to understand the impact and benefits of
the personalized medicine revolution.
Yet public attitudes often determine how public policy on science and
healthcare are shaped and implemented. In recognition of the critical role
of public perception, the Personalized Medicine Coalition is sponsoring
"Public Attitudes Towards Genetics," a seminar highlighting data from three
independent surveys that will feature new information on public perception
of genetics and its role in personalized medicine.
The seminar will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at the Hotel
Washington in Washington, D.C., followed by a reception on the terrace
overlooking the White House.
We hope you will join us for this informative event.
