Question: EDS, POTS, and Medicaid   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #203 of 643 |
I just spoke to a woman on the phone who asked me to ask the lists the following
question.

She has both EDS and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). The POTS
was so disabling, she was unable to work. Her doctor prescribed Procrit to help
with the POTS. The Procrit helped her POTS and she was able to return to work.
Once she returned to work, Ohio Medicaid cut off her coverage for the Procrit.
As a result, the disabling POTS symptoms have returned and she is no longer able
to keep her job. She has contacted the local media and her politicians in the
hopes that somehow the state Medicaid will reinstate her coverage of the
Procrit.

Her question: Has anyone had similiar experiences? If so, what did you do?

Please email answers to me at kdavis@... and I will forward them to her
directly.

-Barb
