The EDS and Speech, Language, Hearing, Voice, and Swallowing Survey has been
published
EDS Today and CEDA (Canadian Ehlers Danlos Association) are proud to
announce that the EDS and Speech, Language, Hearing, Voice, and Swallowing
Survey has been published. It will be on-line at the CEDA website. Check the
EDS Today website or CEDA website for the link to it. This is a volunteer
effort by Bonnie, who also has EDS herself, with the help of two other
prominent speech language pathologists at a local Milwaukee area hospital.
The survey covers all aspects of speech, language, swallowing, hearing, and
voice disorders. Bonnie is trying to correlate the above listed possible
problems and to the fact that they may be caused by EDS. Preliminary
findings will help with possible funding for a larger research project.
Please note that there are two pages to the survey on the net - the first
page is general information and a consent form. The second page contains all
the questions and does take time to load up, so please be patient for to
load. Also, please be sure to answer EACH question, whether it's yes, no, or
not applicable. The survey will automatically keep track of statistics for
the researchers. You can add comments and elaborate about signs/symptoms.
Please feel free to fill a survey out for each member of your family whether
officially diagnosed with EDS or not. To do this, after filling it out for
the first member, click on the submit survey button, then reload the first
webpage.
The survey will be on the webpage from June 16, 2003 through September 16,
2003, so please fill out the survey as soon as possible. Please feel free to
pass this information on to other EDS lists and friends and family not on
the net. You can contact Bonnie Heintskill at: bonnieh4455@... for
further information or a copy of the survey for those not on the net.
