Hi All!
I was recently contacted by a registered nurse who has multiple sclerosis a=
nd is interested in trying Edgar Cayce's MS treatment. That contact has prom=
pted me to add the following statement to my free online book on multiple sc=
lerosis at
http://members.tripod.com/~dudley_delany/index-70.html
"I developed MS a few short years after entering the nursing profession. Fr=
om all that I have read and seen, I am coming more and more to believe that =
MS is an occupational hazzard for nurses, and I think research will someday =
bear this out. To begin with, nurses are exposed to all manner of infectious=
agents, an exposure which, in my opinion, adversely affects their immune sy=
stems. Many work at night, which is notorious for promoting ill-health (my s=
ister was a night nurse for ten years and--grossly overweight with all kinds=
of afflictions--is now on disability). Inadequate sleep and improper diet a=
re other considerations. In addition, it appears to me that, for the most pa=
rt, nurses do not take any better care of themselves than the general popula=
tion (witness the many nurses who are overweight or who smoke). Perhaps the =
biggest factor, though, is stress--on all levels--mental, emotional, physica=
l, and spiritual. My 7+ years in nursing were unquestionably the most reward=
ing that I have spent in any job or profession. The down side, however, is t=
he toll that it took on my health, and is currently taking on the health of =
so many engaged in that most noble endeavor."
If you know any nurses with MS, please be so kind as to share this statemen=
t with them.
With best wishes,
Dudley Delany
