Re: Help !Intolerant Hypersensitive Skin Dermatitis Sunsensitivity

Hi all,

I haven't posted in a while, because I am doing much much better with my
Eczema outbreaks. However, I wanted to share about what really saved me
from a lot of undue suffering. Most eczema (atopic dermatitis) is caused from
a reaction to something we come in contact with.....a skin allergy that
triggers the itching and inflamation.

After many years of suffering, I finally found a doctor that educated me
on skin testing for allergies to ingredients and chemicals in products we
use each day. I was tested for approximately 200 different substances to
find out what my chemical sensitivities were. Once I found out what
ingredients or chemicals I tested positive to, I had to eliminate every product
that
contained these reactants.

I was surprised to find that the products I was using, which were all
advertised as, "natural", "for sensitive skin" or "for eczema suffers" all
contained the ingredients that I had the worst re-actions to on my test
results.

Once I eliminated those products, my eczema cleared tremendously, no more
cracked skin, no more insane itching, no more weeping skin...etc.

That is not to say I am 100% cured, but I would say I am definitely at
least 80% improved.

Now, I could have taken the testing to a higher level, as there are
doctors out there that test for sensitivities to upwards of 1000 different
ingredients, but I didn't need to take it to that level...others may need this
depending on their level of suffering.

I hope this information is helpful to someone, because I debated this
testing for years before I finally gave in and had it done, and I am very
grateful for the relief I have received as a result.

By the way, I still somewhat avoid the sun...as it is a trigger for me
also.

Ruth Ann
