Try giving her probiotics. There is one you can find at a health food store
or some grocery store sells it also. Jarrowdolphilus - or something like
that. It will add the good bacteria back into her body. That is the brand
made for infants and younger children. Also add giver her some cod liver oil
or fish oil to see if it will help. If you are a vegetarian then try some
evening primrose oil or maybe at the health food store they might carry a
plant based version of EPA/DHA or GLA oils. These are essential fatty acids
that helps to keep the cells in the body fluid. They are great for the skin.
Start with 1/4 tsp and build her up to about 1/2 tsp in about a week. As she
gets older you as in years you can increase it to 1 tsp.
Another thing make sure your daughter is getting in water. The water is so
important in eczema. It tens to help flush the toxins which maybe coming
through her skin because the liver and kidneys may not be properly detoxing
them. Spring water may be the best kind as it contains natural minerals from
the earth. I like Mountain Valley and HiOSilver. They are more expensive but
I know they take the initiative to make sure the spring water does not
contain contaminants and harmful bacteria during the bottling process.
Distilled water may be too acidic for her. By acidic I mean the water's pH
is below 7.0. You can do a search on the Internet for acid/alkaline balance
to get more information.

Subject: [eczemapsoriasis] Oral antiobiotics
My daughter is 8 months old and has severe eczema.
Due to her itching, she has also developed small, zit-like postules on
her scalp several times. Our doctor has prescribed oral antibiotics 4
times - keflex, septra (2x), and cleocin. The antibiotics were
effective the first two times but the second use of septra resulted in
a breakout of hives and the cleocin caused diarrhea so we stopped using
the oral antibiotics.
She continues to scratch and we're unable to keep the infection under
control.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Are there other antibiotics that
have been effective? How have any of you prevented infection from
recurring?
I appreciate any suggestions.
