Hi Jessica
Is your instructor telling you that you're the one that has to find a site that'll let you do your clinicals? The Echo program you're attending should already have clinical sites set up for its students to be able to have hands-on practice. That shouldn't be something you, as a student, should be burdened with, since you're already paying for the course you're attending. This should've been set up well in advance by them. Also, each potential clinical site needs to set things up with their Administration department first. I can't believe your program director is making you be the one to find a place. How the heck would you, as a student, know where to go? Most echo students don't know about this echo-group website to even be able to ask for help. And besides, let's say you never found a place (which I'm sure you will), does that mean your program won't graduate you because you were never able to get in the clinical
time? That's a lot of nerve on their part.
Jeez, sorry for venting over this. I just feel for you, and it makes me a little upset on your behalf.
To be helpful, I'd suggest you get out the phone book and call all the echo and/or vascular departments of the closest hospitals nearby where you are. Even if they don't have clinicals set up, they might know who does, or be willing to set things up just for you.
Best of luck to you~
Amanda

Hi,
Presently Im attending a Echo/Vascular program at Sandford Brown Inst in Westchester, NY .
In about 2 months I will be ready ro start my clinicals. I will need 900 hours of Echo/Vascular
expierence, preferably in a hospital setting. My school will pay for the time I spend at the
site.
Could someone recommend a good teaching hospital or a good clinical site in NY, NJ or CT?
Or would anyone be interested in taking a great student Echo/Vascular Tech?
Any info will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Jessica
